Project Overview
The ACETEL Project Portal is an advanced academic project management system developed by Beep Digital for the African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning under the National Open University of Nigeria. The platform was built to enhance postgraduate project supervision and streamline academic workflows, enabling seamless communication and efficient management of research submissions across departments.
The Challenge
Before the portal was introduced, the project supervision process at ACETEL relied heavily on manual coordination and fragmented communication between students and supervisors. Topic approvals, document reviews, and progress tracking were slow and inconsistent, leading to delays and limited visibility for administrators. The institution required a centralized digital system that could manage project submissions, automate approval processes, and ensure effective collaboration between supervisors and students while maintaining security and accountability.
Beep Digital's Solution
Beep Digital designed and implemented the ACETEL Project Portal using a custom LAMPP stack with Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Python integration to ensure high performance and adaptability. The system was developed with an upgradeable architecture and tailored to the academic structure of NOUN’s postgraduate programs.
